The aim of this
non-profit association, which was initiated with the support of the Austrian
Ministry of Education, Science and Culture, is the development of a spectrum of
Austrian-American cooperation in the area of education. After the two countries
had carried out several highly successful projects together, the decision was
taken to initiate the association in December 1992 in order that there could be
an optimum utilization of the available resources. In particular, emphasis is
placed on inservice teacher training and language programs, curriculum
development and an exchange of ideas in bilingual, multicultural and vocational
education. Further cooperative programs are being planned for representatives
of school and education authorities.Both sides help each other by initiating
contacts within the area of education, and in particular, supporting innovative
developments, for instance in modern foreign language learning. |
