You want to start your career as a teacher in Philadelphia?
You'd like to be able to teach your subject in English?

  • We will send you the application form and the dates for the coming year
  • You have to send
    3 applications with 3 photos
    2 curriculum vitae in English
    2 copies of your academic degrees (teaching license)
    2 English translations of your academic degrees
    2 copies of your transcripts
    2 English translations of your transcripts
    2 copies of passport (picture page)
    2 copies of former visas to the U.S.
  • We will inform you where and when the interviews will take place.
  • We will also send you the usual questions that will be asked at the interview.
  • First there will be a personal interview with some members of the School District of Philadelphia. They will tell you right away, if you're accepted as a teacher in Philadelphia or not.
  • Filling out a million papers will come next.
  • We will try to get you the papers you need to apply for a visa at the US consulate in your home country.

  • We will prepare a weekend seminar for the entire group to help you with the US schoolsystem, the curriculum, the school books,.....and we will try to answer all the questions you will still have.
  • You will fly to Philadelphia. (WATCH YOUR BAGGAGE!!!!)
  • The School District of Philadelphia will hopefully pay for your accommodation during the first 2 weeks.
  • The School District of Philadelphia will have workshops in August to help you with your future teaching.
  • You are settled in Philadelphia,, you know everything about schooling and the school system, you have met your Superintendent, your pricipal, your assistant principal, your mentor and your buddy teacher.
  • You start to teach.
  • Sometimes you think of the people back in Austria and you drop them an e-mail to let them know that everything is ok. We always like to hear from you.
